Dairy Farm Construction in Pakistan
Pioneers of PEB Dairy Shed in Pakistan
The open shed is the most popular dairy housing in Pakistan. A high steel roof gives shade and rain cover while the open sides let natural air pass through, which keeps cows cooler and the shed drier.
An open shed is a steel framed roof structure with no side walls, or only low walls, built over feeding lanes, free stalls and walkways. Because air moves freely, heat and ammonia do not build up, and animals stay more comfortable in Pakistan's hot and humid months. It is also the lowest cost way to cover a large herd.
Mahmood Engineering pioneered PEB dairy sheds in Pakistan. Each shed is engineered for your herd size, with the correct roof height, slope and ridge opening so hot air escapes from the top while the floor stays dry.
A clear process with a named engineer at every stage, so you always know what happens next.
Our engineer visits your land, checks soil, drainage, wind direction and access roads, and records your herd size, milking routine and expansion plans.
Day 1 to 5We plan feeding lanes, resting area, alleys, water points, milking route and manure flow so animals and workers move without crowding.
Week 1 to 2Portal frames, purlins, bracing and foundations are designed for Pakistan wind and seismic loads. You receive approved drawings before steel is cut.
Week 2 to 4A clear bill of quantities, material grades and payment schedule. No hidden items, and every change is priced before it is built.
Week 3 to 4Excavation, footings, plinth beams and floor preparation, with anchor bolts set to exact positions for the steel frame.
Week 4 to 8Columns, rafters and purlins are cut, welded and painted or galvanised at our Lahore factory under quality control, then marked for fast assembly.
Week 4 to 10Frames are lifted and bolted, purlins and bracing fixed, then roof sheets, ridge ventilation and roof lights are installed.
Week 8 to 14Floors, mangers, rails, water troughs and drainage are completed. We inspect every connection and hand over with drawings and maintenance advice.
Week 12 to 16Rotate the open shed, zoom in, or walk inside along the feeding lane.
Drag the line to compare the empty site with the finished project.

The cost depends on covered area, roof height, steel grade, floor works and equipment. An open shed is the most economical option. Share your herd size and location through our estimate form and we will send a clear quotation.
With free stalls and feeding lanes, a typical layout needs about 100 to 110 square feet of covered area per animal, including alleys. Exact numbers depend on your layout and whether you add a holding area.
In most of Punjab and Sindh, yes, when the roof is high and the ridge is open. For extreme heat we can add fans and sprinklers over the feeding lane, or you can choose a control shed.
Yes. Our PEB frames are designed in bays, so you can add more bays at the end of the shed when your herd grows.
